Here is a 5' Curtis FEL plow on my Legacy XL. No problems on my paved drive for snow.

I sold my previous front blade and have a six footer on order of the Frontier blades. Hopefully it will be here this week.

Are you able to use the angle of the Curtis blade?

johndeere 2210,

Yes i can operate the angle hydraulically. After attaching the loader arms to the lower pins of the plow brackets, I attach the tilt/curl cylinders to the upper holes of the plow brackets. At that point, I disconnect the tilt/curl cylinder hoses from my remote tractor outlets and connect the two hoses from the plow's angle cylinders to the tilt/curl remote sockets on the tractor. Now my tractor joystick operates the lift of the loader as it always does (12 o'clock - 6 o'clock movement) and the plow is angled by the tilt/curl (3 o'clock - 9 o'clock) movement of the joystick. Obviously I can't tilt or curl the entire plow at this point but I set the ideal tilt of the plow relative to the ground prior to switching the loader's tilt/curl cylinder hoses for the angualation cylinder hoses on the plow. The tilt/curl cylinders become rigid but passive points of attachment and are backed up by the chain that you see running from the plow to the loader frame. Pretty slick really. My rig is a 5' plow and weighs about 480lbs. With 300 lbs. on the 3pt. hitch it handles very nicely and takes some of the strain off the front axle. My loader is rated for 500lbs. and has no problem lifting the plow 4 feet. Even though the plow has trip springs, I'm still careful not to ram into anything too stiff if I can help it. Curtis also supplies a Deere quick connect package which would eliminate the manual pinning of the plow to the loader and make lining up a snap (literally and figuratively).
