Harbor Freight and Northern Tool, plus allot of other stores sell pipe benders for $100 that will handle small sized pipe. I'm looking to buy one myself for some railings that I want to put a slight bow into.

When I was in High School, I woulld notch the pipe and reweld it to get a bend that I wanted. It worked pretty good, but then again, I was 16 and had more energy then money.

I wish I had a welder, its on the "to be aquired list". The pipe outside dia is 1 1/8th. She does need a welder taken to it as the pipe that comes out of the muffler that the tip attaches to is loose and leaking. It needs rewelded to the muffler body. It seems solid enough to weld up. Just need a good MIG welder. I will have check the EMT dia. when I am at lowes next time. Battery was to low to fire it over so I had to jump it with my truck, fired right up. I pulled the battery and its on the charger. Diesel seems to run well for its age. Gotta find that missing piece for the air filter quick though. Am I better off to convert it to a paper element filter, or hunt down the missing oil bath parts? Mike

Clear up in dreary erie! Atleast for another month or so, we are in the process of moving to Kokomo, IN. Cant do the main move till I find work there. We spent all last week there job searching and working on the house. Nothing concrete in the job dept yet, but lots of feelers out there now. I figure a quick 90' elbow right off the muffler, then upwards 3feet to a nice turnout. Then I can paint it all heat treat black when I refinish the muffler body. I plan to do a full repaint on this old girl in the spring. Mike

A 1" emt conduit ell would be close to that size, if the 90 is tight enough.

I am playing around with some various pipes from work to see if I can find something that will work. I have found from making stacks on garden tractors, that stainless steel grab rails from the plumbing dept at Lowes make excellent stacks with some simple cutting. I will post more as I find answers Mike

Here is my current solution, I cut off the old rusty thing that was blackening my hoses and snow blade, and put this nice little chrome turnout on it. Going up with a stack will take some doing as all the hyd hoses for the blade run right above the muffler. This will blow the soot out the side and away from me. Good enough for now. I will look at the stack when I pull the blade and all its hoses off for the summer. Mike

Mike,

What made you choose Kokomo? That's where I'm from.
