Anybody here ever make money gambling?

My ex-husband was a great gambler. He made huge amounts of money from it. He never told me how he got into gambling, but I know he has a lot of experience because he started doing it since he was 16 and now we are in our 40s. I was really impressed by the amount of money you could make from gambling so I started doing it myself. I have a very good friend who is an avid gambler. He mostly plays slot machines. I stood next to him one night at a casino in New Orleans and watched him win $120,000 in about 2 hours on one slot machine. He won $80.000.00 within the first 10 minutes and continued to play for another 2 hours until he actually fell asleep at the machine. That's when I woke him up and said it's time to go. One weekend I was headed to his camp for some deer hunting. I called to tell him I was on my way. He said, I'm at the car dealership in Biloxi picking up my car. He had won a Mercedes Benz, but immediately traded it for a much nicer Mercedes. He used the $30,000 he had won in addition to the car, to upgrade to a 80,000 Mercedes Benz.

As for me, I'll put $100 in a slot machine, and when thats gone, I'm done.

That is amazing. I read that slots have the worst odds of winning than any of the casino games.

My brother was the CFO for a casino for 20 years. I not sure if he told me but someone told me most the profit comes from slots and of course, they are all electronic and programmed.

A friend of mine bought one of those hundred dollar tickets, for chance to win a million dollar cottage, home, or CASH from the Hospital that saved his son's life after an accident.

He WON. Took the money, althought the guy doesn't need it or even touched it after a few years. Visited me last night. MAD because the GOV took all the interest! lol

well, my best winning was 453$ and it is nothing but luck. I have lost more playing RTG slot games and online roulette. By the way, never play roulette, it is a waste of time.

Lived in Vegas from 87 to 94. Gambling is like other endeavors. The wise prosper and the fools fail...except for a few random exceptions to make life interesting. I could walk to a casino from my first apartment. Friday nights I would take a 20 and play video poker, slots are for suckers. Got a few free drinks. When my 20 was gone, so was I. If I got up more than 20, that went in my pocket to stay. Just played with winnings from there. Net, I probably won a little more than I lost. Add in the 'free' entertainment and it was pretty cheap.
People with gambling addiction will find a way to gamble if the casino is there or not. I'd rather see a casino than state lottery. Ultimately, like any addiction the losers are those affected by the addict.

Farming is gambling. Some folks make pretty good money at it.

Don't remember if I told elsewhere on TBN but, did you all hear about the farmer who won the lottery?
Local news reporter asked him what he was going to do now with all that money.
