Blue smoke is usually a good indication of burning oil (think Dodge minivan). Could be a cylinder problem like rings or valve seals. Usually it's a valve seal problem. I'm not familiar with this engine, does it have a turbo? If it does make sure there is no oil in the intake system. Oil in the intake system indicates that the turbo oil seal is leaking into the compressor housing. If it does have a turbo and you do find oil in the pressure side make sure you get it fixed, you don't want your engine to run away and shoot a piston out the side or loose it's head.
