Anybody know anything about this Bosch injection pump (pic)

Blue smoke is usually a good indication of burning oil (think Dodge minivan). Could be a cylinder problem like rings or valve seals. Usually it's a valve seal problem. I'm not familiar with this engine, does it have a turbo? If it does make sure there is no oil in the intake system. Oil in the intake system indicates that the turbo oil seal is leaking into the compressor housing. If it does have a turbo and you do find oil in the pressure side make sure you get it fixed, you don't want your engine to run away and shoot a piston out the side or loose it's head.

Thanks, It doesn't have a turbo.
As much as it smokes its kinda hard to believe it would be valve seals?
Maybe sticky oil rings?

Can fuel related things lead to blue smoke on a diesel?

Blue is oil. Fuel is either black (think pulling tractors shooting black smoke 100 feet into the air) or white (think starting a diesel engine on a cold morning). Blue smoke isn't good in a gas or diesel engine. It could be rings, valve guides or seals (in gas engines a stuck PCV can also cause it). In any case it usually requires a slightly to highly painful extraction from ones wallet.

If your injector pump leaks fuel into the oil sump of the pump could the oil you put in the pump be getting into the fuel system and be injected into the cylinders and burned ?

I really don't know but it sounds reasonable IMHO

That's orginally what I thought Jsborn.
But now after I changed the oil it wasn't overfilled with fuel as much as I thought.

How about excessive oil pressure making it smoke?
It pegs the gauge when you run it, gauge goes to 60.

Hate to rain on your parade mate but blue smoke is indicative of oil dont get fooled by "only 800 hours " i have seen engines 8 hours old that are stuffed the easy starting does not mean good compression i have seen some diesel engines that you can turn over by hand very easy and still start and run reasonable it does not take much oil to smoke, White smoke is unburnt fuel usally seen when starting and black smoke is oveerfuel usually seen when running at high speed or heavy load good luck:)

What style of Bosch pump would this be?
I see there is a VE style and a A&K style. I was looking at manuals and just wanted to be sure this pump would be covered.
Thanks

The VE pump (Verteiler-Einspritz) is a rotary pump, developed in the mid or late 70's. The one in your picture is an inline.
If your books tell you there are only two styles, this must be the A&K style.
