Anybody NOT using UDT or Super UDT

The front axles can take 80w90 gear oil as well. The SUDT/UDT is a bit nicer for getting rolling in the freezing cold but the heavier oil won't hurt the axle one bit, its listed in the manual as an alternate.

I just asked the same ? I went to my dealer and talked with one of his mechanic's and was told that hardy no one follows the maint sechule as to changing the tranny oil. He told me to just change the filter and top it off with I did.

My dealer said virtually the same thing. He does not recommend a full tranny oil replacement until 200 or 300 hours.

What about the disc's in your wet brakes and pto clutch pack? We have had to replace brake disc in several tractor that used walmart or sam's hydraulic oil . Not cheap. About $1200.

That's cheap compared to replacing the proportional flow control valves and the solenoids in the transmission when they go from using the oxidized degraded hydraulic fluid!

Any tractor shop or diesel mechanic that tells you NOT to follow the Kubota recommended fluid changes because "no one else ever does" is a shop NOT to do business with.....

Skypup it all depends what you do with it. If you run short periods of time, on borrowed hydraulic equipment your hydraulic fluid will be very contaiminated.

If you have no remotes, run your machine for a few hours so the hydro fluid is heated and water is driven off, you will have very long fluid life. This is why in heavy equipment they test it to know the change interval.

Kubota just tries to hit the average with its recommendations.

XCEL lubricants makes a fluid that is listed to be equiv. to SUDT.
Its called Super Universal Tractor Fluid - Plus.
I got it at Central Auto Parts in FL for about $35 a 5 gallon pail.

You need SUDT for all Kubota HST and GST transmissions made over the last ten years for maximum performance and durability.

I have the same question as the orignal post. I have always used Rotella or NAPA UTF in my old Kubota and the in-laws Deeres. Must admit though, I never thought about UTF, of any brand, being bad for the wet brakes.

Our older tractors have between 3,000 and 5,000 hours with not a whole lot of problems (both kubota and deere). I have a very hard time believing that my new 4330 DT is so sensitive that UTF would ruin it.

You tell'em RaT, The first thing I do is get read of it at 50 hours and start in with a cheap cost ( not quality ) bulk universal tractor hydraulic and transmission oil that evens names UDT as a replacement. I have thousands of hours on my kubota fleet with absolutely zero failures with any HST system. It's all about marketing which has nothing in common with results!

It's all about high tech Kubota design engineering, which has nothing to do with marketing if you own a piece of it.

The most important key factor to examine is the stated kinematic viscosity at both ambient and operational temperatures, which allows these SUDT compatible fluids to perform so well in HST and GST Kubotas.
