I'm curious of anyone has owned or had first hand experience use of a pull type blower?

I own a 4 wheel drive NH TN75da. I now have a typical 3 point mounted 7 1/2ft Lucknow. If I could stumble across a pull type (used) cheap enough i might buy it. I understand that it's not ideal, but in less than a foot storms it'd be ideal.

thanks

We had one 40+ years ago and it worked OK with dry snow. Heavy wet snow would not feed into the blower since ours was basically a V with the fan in the middle. This was used on a 2WD 2510 JD.

I use an old Arps V type pull behind blower on a Ford 860 and it works OK. Dry snow is easier than wet. When it is wet it helps to let it lay a day so it dries or freezes. I also use a 6 1/2 foot Erskine pull behind on a Ford 4000SU. It is great as long as the tractor can get through the snow. If the snow is too deep I still have access to a traditional blower used backing the tractor up. PS. All the tractors also have front mounted blades.

My dad still uses one and claims it's no different to our newer ones really . Just if it'ds deep a 2wd is useless .

On my L4200, I have a agro-trend 72" pull type blower.
Would never go back to a push type, my neck just can't handle it anylonger.
I paid $2500 plus taxes, second hand but almost new condition, hydraulic chute and rotate.
Well worth every penny, and your machine can handle these no problem.
In your situation, I'd get a larger one, 78" at least.
Mine can throw snow 30 to 40 feet easily and can handle 2 foot "banks" left over from my front blade.
Love it, you get what you pay for, new they go upwards of $3000.

Really prefer not to buy new, just yet. Looking around for one in my region, who knows if i will find it. I want a 90 inch, covers my tracks good.

I'm all set with what i have now, putting a back up camera has helped some. I looked into putting the blower i have now on my FEL, but really would like to keep that end free for the bucket, or maybe a pusher if i find a sweet deal. May end up putting a 8ft blade(w/hydr switch) on the FEL. As you can see, I'm all over the place.

Just looking for some first hand experience with the pull type. I think with the exception of a few storms the pull type will work good. Pull type with a blade would be ideal.

Check out this video.... normally this driveway takes less than 1 minute. But, because no one lives there, I let it sit through a 3 day storm. The snow was about 36" deep at the deepest point. But it was also packed and drifted from 4 days of 25+ mph winds. I'll see if I have another video of me going through more drifts. I get TONS of drifting out by my biggest account, which is why I went to an inverted blower.

This was another driveway that was not cleared for over a month. 2 companies with pick up trucks tried and gave up. Entrance to the drive was 40" of packed snow from the county plow trucks. 225 feet long, 12 feet wide with a side load garage took 12 minutes.
