SSEELHOFF; Sounds like the dealer should spend less timed in Vegas and more time putting a professional product on the lot. This is not a problem with a particular model line this is a dealer problem. Even the 2615 without proper dealer setup wont start. We have had zero electrical issues with the 2525. In fact I was very happy to see the quality of the electrical components that were used.

Buck

It might not be a tractor problem but it is still a Mahindra problem.

The dealer was supposed to call me back yesterday and set up time yesterday or today to test drive the 2525 and 2615. Have not heard a word from them. If I have to work this hard to spend money, imagine the difficulty I will have if the thing ever needs warranty work. Sadly, this dealership owns all 4 Mahindra stores within a 150 mile radius, so if I want the Mahindra, I have to put up with this ongoing BS, or drive 2-3 hours.

There are two JD dealerships within 20 minutes of the property, and we just discovered that we can get discounts on JD as members of the United States Equestrian Federation. I think that pretty much tells me where I stand with Mahindra.

I'd bet that unless you are going to get 30% off MSRP with Deere you'd still be cheaper with the Mahindra/Mitsubishi 15 series and have just as good if not better tractor. Don't be fooled by "discounts". Bottom line everybody has to make money to stay in buisness and lots of folks mark stuff up so they can mark it down.
I realize the dealer may have left a bad taste in your mouth, but don't be afraid of the 15 series. They are a heck of a tractor. I will say though that I'd be a little skiddish of the 2525 from this particular dealer. You are a lot less likely to experience any problem with the 15 series.

I have read over and over on this board that you are buying a dealer as much as you are buying a tractor. I have given up on this dealer. I first went in on February 4 and told them that I wanted to make a purchase by the END OF FEBRUARY. We looked at the 2615, and he had the 2525 brochure. They were supposed to have the 2525 in February, but didn't get around to calling me until the second week of March. When I did get to see it, the unit was not operational. They were again supposed to call me on Monday of this week. It is now Thursday morning, and they have not called. I called the salesman, but he has not gotten around to returning my call yet.

The 2615 may be the best tractor in the world, and have the best price. I did like it. But the fact of the matter is, if the dealership is this disinterested in selling me a tractor, they are forcing me to go elsewhere. If this is how they treat me when I walk in the door looking to give them money, I shudder to think how they will treat me if a problem arises and the unit requires warranty work or other service.

I'm done with the 2615 and the 2525. It has nothing to do with the tractors, and everything to do with customer service. I may pay more for the JD. But the fact of the matter is, with JD, I'm fairly certain I will end up with a tractor in my shed in the near term. With Mahindra, I don't know how much longer this is going to draw out. I'm already three weeks behind my purchase timeline, and there are things I need to get done now that spring is here.

I feel your pain! That is similar to the way I was treated by the Kubota and Deere dealers here. Kubota dealer didn't have time to "look up a price". Deere dealer said "this is MSRP, that's what it takes to buy the tractor" and "I don't care if you buy a tractor or not". Needless to say that played a huge role in the reason I have 2 Mahindras. Are there other Mahindra dealers within a reasonable distance from you?

This dealership owns 4 Mahindra stores-North, South, East, and West of Dallas. They have me surrounded. Next closest Mahindra dealership is between 100-150 miles away.

CNH gives a discount to that group as well, I can't totally speak for Deere... but from what I know those discounts are no joke.

sseelhoff, I don't blame you in the least for feeling the way you do. I found the same thing as jwcinpk at most JD dealers. I have the 15 Series in a 10 year old Cub Cadet that I bought new and I know you would be happy with the -15 tractor. On the other hand there is nothing that chaps my buns more then to go into any kind of dealership, or store and have them treat me like I'm lucky they are there to help me when "they" want to. The same thing happened a couple of years ago when I was looking for a new car. The Honda & adjacent Suburu dealership never walked out on the lot to talk to me after my looking at vehicles for 30-40 minutes. I went across town and ended up with a Toyota. I say take your money and run, go to someone who wants your bucks.

You have to be careful about that also. My neighbor spent over 50k at a local tractor dealership. Said that they were the best people around, until he signed his check.(paid cash) Now they won't give him the time of day. Sometimes that is all that they want, your $$$$$, then your on your own.
