Anybody use Seafoam in your lawnmower?

A check did not find when Illinois passed law requiring only ethanol at the pumps. You seem to assume all states are the same, not so. By 1980 cars had restrictive baffles in filler tube to accept the smaller filler nozzles of unleaded gas. It was unlawful in some states to alter, use regular gas in these which I and many people did. TN was one of these states. They would not turn on the gas pump if you attempted to use leaded regular in these cars as I found out. MTBE was used briefly until it was found to be poisonous then ethanol was substituted. It was not long afterwards that Illinois required only ethanol gas at service stations. You might want to be more careful before declaring people are incorrect.

IF you find info indicating otherwise, I would like to see it.

Are you talking about leaded gas or ethanol gas? The have not sold leaded gas in years. They do sell non-ethanol unleaded gas.

I think problems with ethanol blended gasoline is overstated or imaginary. :confused3:

I have been using 10% ethanol gas (89 octane) along with the recommended amount of Sta-Bil gas treatment in all my small gas powered equipment for years without any problems. Stihl chain saw and Combi, JD garden tractor, and Honda generators , etc.

The only thing I noticed, I do not get as good of gas mileage from ethanol blended gas as I did with non-ethanol gas in my vehicles.

I have trouble believing that, that town has not had it in 20 years. I think people over estimate or have poor memories when it comes to time.

You may have trouble believing that but unless you have proof otherwise, best keep your beliefs to your self.

Primarily use it in the fall at last mowing or usage in all our power Equiptment. We also not use non ethanol 93 octane fuel. Has worked well in our household
Man I would love to have a tank of 93 octane ethanol free. all we can get is a 90 octane ethanol free. I use seafoam in every engine I have. Before I started using it I replaced 3 carbs because of gum build up and I was using stabill at the end of mowing season.

All I can find around here is 87. It seems to be working well though.

For mowers and saws I use a couple of those plastic half gallon whiskey jugs that you'd find on the bottom shelf. Much easier to fill small tanks from, and they are clear so you can easily tell mix from straight gas. I always dose the mower gas with a little seafoam and a dash of Marvel mystery oil, don't know if it does any good but it hasn't done any harm.

SeaFoam does a good job as carb cleaner and has it place with me especially for cleaning already gunked up stuff.

But for my small engines and for my air cooled and carbureted Harleys I use the StarTron now

We sell that one along with a few other fuel stabilzers and octane boosters etc. at the motorcycle shop I frequently spend my time at and it's that one I use in all my equipment 2 stroke line trimmers and chainsaws, my lawn tractor, snowblower, water pump and rototiller for several years now along with pump gas. Everything stays cleans and runs real smooth using it on regular basis. I don't need to use any other fuel stabilizers or do any other storage maintenance either. Try some if your looking to run a stabilizer/additive :D

I have been doing small engine work for a long time I'm sold on using it. Years ago we always put a little MMO in the Harleys gas tank and I still have some of that and some Stabil around too.

20 years ago, was 1997. Bill Clinton was president. Gas was $1.22. Princess Dianna died. Harleys have Evos. Packers and New England in Super Bowl.

Don't use it unless you are ready with gloves, face shield , kevlar chaps and iron worker boots. Once a dose of that miraculous sea foam makes it from the fuel tank to the engine. That 4HP Bring & Statton is going to take off like it was turbo'd with Nitrous Oxide injection. She will turn lawn, native grasslands, abandoned cow pastors, run down orchards and virgin forest into mulch as fast as you can run behind the mower.
