Anybody using Meijers brand Dexos oil?

Our household just added a newer GM vehicle that requires Dexos specification oil, the first one we have ever had. While pricing that oil at the local Meijers today, their brand of Dexos is $17.49 per 5 quarts and Mobil 1 Dexos is $25.19 for 5 quarts. Both prices are for 5W-30. Quite a disparity in cost and it surprised me.

I'll bet the more expensive Mobil 1 is synthetic fluid or at least a blended one.

According to the labels, the Meijers brand oil is a full synthetic product, as is the Mobil 1.

Check the labels. Newer Mobil 1 is a dexos1 oil. Here's a list of dexos1 oils by brand.

THANK YOU for providing that link...the Meijers brand is identified as a Dexos1 oil...having never used a synthetic product after over 40 years of using Dino oil, I realize that I need to adapt to current technology requiring synthetics.

I run dexos1 in my car (2012) and Truck (2013). Usually Valvoline, Castrol, Havoline, or Mobil1. Whichever I can get on sale. When buying oil in anyplace that sells it make sure it says dexos1 on the label if you have a vehicle that requires it.
I used Valvoline Racing oil in my older classic cars. They need the Zinc that's in the racing oil.
Usually use Rotella oil for the tractor.

I use Schaeffer oils in all my stuff, primarily because I buy pallet loads of the stuff for business use, so I get a case or two of their 9003D 5w30 synthetic for my 2013 Silverado when I put in a business order. It is not on the official "approved" dexos1 list, but it is a dexos1 compliant product. And the free shipping to my front door is an added plus.

Man that is quite the list. I'll bite what is dexos? The base material is different? or the additive package?
