Anyone already thinking of springtime?

The sun is finally shining here with temps above freezing for the first time since mid January. I hear the crows outside and feel that old mans winters back must surely be broken!

Winters' back might be broken, but don't sell March short. The forecast is for some more snow here tonight and tomorrow, about 4" or so. Plus freezing rain.

Our temps have gotten to where they're supposed to be, maybe even a bit above normal, but after all the snow then heavy rains, the soil is so saturated it's going to be a long while before I can get out on it and do anything. Then for forecast for the next two days is for heavy rains!

I have gone through just about all of my equipment, changed fluids, checked settings, all the preventive maintenance stuff just so I'm ready when the ground and weather decides to get right.

We have had rain and lots of it for the last two days. Soil was saturated prior to this storm front and it all runs off. I had a mini-lake in my pasture yesterday. I still have a stream running thru my lawn from the large pond run-off. I was out picking up the limbs from the last ice storm damage a few days ago and noticed that on all the hills, spring water is flowing out at the bottoms at a pretty good pace. It is going to be a long while before the yard dries up at least in the flats. The upper hills will dry out in a couple of days of no rain.

Spring has sprung ... ice on pond has melted and the Phoebe's have come home to roast.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's awesome. A spring peaking around the corner.

Got my lawn tractor running good now and have been out driving it around town today. Took my parents couch up a few blocks to their new house with the lawn tractor.

I had hauled it over on my dad's trailer but hadn't put it inside their new house because we had to wait to get another couch out of the house. Then the weather turned bad and we hadn't got around to putting it into the house.

So it sat in my backyard and finally hooked up the trailer to my lawn tractor this morning and pulled it down the block to their house and finally got it inside there.

My truck is down at the moment. "Bearing failure in the engine" it's in our shop right now partly tore down getting ready to pull the motor and swap it.

So since my trucks down the lawn tractor is my current transportation around town. Gonna probably haul some more plaster to the community dumpster today with the lawn tractor.

I'm so glad it's warmed up and I can shed my coat.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be 85F. Today it was 75F. I got my engine pulled out of my truck today and tomorrow should have the other engine installed and hopefully be able to drive the truck again.

I'm loving this nice weather.
