Sheesh, when I started brewing, had no choice but to read the best books of the time. There was no WWW. We did, have email digest; I was on the original Home Brew Digest. Came out once a day. TBN and it's creators weren't even born thenThere were some of the .net forums, but few people had a computer, much less access to them.
I knew a home brewer back in the 80's and one Saturday I went to his house to help brew some beer. I had read a book or two and watching him helped but I was living in apartments and small condos so I did not really have the space to store the gear much less the beer plus I really did not have the time to brew. Then a guy at work showed up one Monday talking about making beer and that was that. I found some of the youtube videos, bought what I needed to brew and off I went. The videos really helped answer questions I had had for years. One concern I had was filling up the bottles. Back in the 80's I don't think they had the bottle fillers dohickeys I use to today. Filling the bottles was something that did not look fun back then. Not a real joy today but it is not that big of a deal.
