Anyone built one of these?

Mark,

We will also be in the market for a barn soon. They have an interesting website. Did you call for prices. Curious what they cost $$$.

Nope, but it looks interesting. The concept is sound. Wonder how well it deals with wind? Also curious if there would be any issues with permits, etc.

I looked over their Website and, yes, the construction does look interesting. The open space is fantastic. I looked over the customer comments and one mentioned that the cost of materials was high. No dollar figures.

I have requested their information and would like to price one out when I receive it.

I briefly looked into using them. I called and got a very nice person who gave me some rough pricing. A little pricey but the shipping charges really floored me...almost $800. I guess it depends on where you live but ask about that early on.

Tony, what were the dimensions and how much for the building??

Well it's been some months now but it wasn't huge. I just wanted a roof...no sides, no front or back. It was about 32X22 and the price was in the $3500 plus range, not including the shipping. I found a local siding/aluminum outfit that makes a nice building. It's cost is under $3000 installed (no work for me!). It should be coming any day now.

Hey, Tony... Thank you for the quick reply.

Another question... how do the two compare?? Are they basically the same i.e. Open truss construction??

It's not built with trusses. They use square tubing, I'd say almost 3" square and a very heavy gauge. The roof is corrugated aluminum, heavy gauge also. You can get optional sides, garage doors, windows etc. Right now I am still going wide open. I can always add the rest later. The building is all open in the middle. I went to where they are made and I was very impressed with how solid they are. They also come with a 20 year guarantee, and that includes blowing over in the wind. They seem to be well installed. I guess they would have to be with that guarantee. I'll be glad to post a photo as soon as it's installed. There may be someone near you that does them too. I see you're in MD which isn't too awful far from Va. You maybe could work something out with them, but as I say they are local. If you have any more questions, please feel free!

Geez.... You're halfway down 81.... Guess I'll look around locally. Got to be someone who builds a decent building for a decent price. Don't mind doing it myself, but sometimes the $3k estimate turns out to be $4-5k. Then, you have to speak to the family CFO.... I'd rather sit on a cactus /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif
