Put in the $13 CREE 60w 800 lumen bulb this morning that I picked up from Home Depot.

Put it over the kitchen table... light is ok, bulb appears well made and it uses 9.5w with a 10 year warranty.

Proof of purchase, receipt required when mailing back bulbs under warranty.

I also like that it has a coating like a shatter proof shop light, instant on, temp range from -13F to 113F and assembled in USA

Light is well centered and color is 2700k

Never thought I'd willing pay $13 for a light bulb... then I also never thought I'd be paying 35 cents a kW at third tier level.

If it performs as advertised I'm satisfied.

Looks like I need a new shoebox for LED warranty proof of purchase and receipts... I do take a Sharpie and mark month and year on my bulbs.

Cool.. well looks like considering the investment expense, we are all going to have to keep track of our light bulbs for warranty purposes. Who would have thunk it!. when bulbs were 50 cents it just didn't matter if one popped early, now it does.

I am still waiting for someone to report on RFI emissions of some of the newer LED bulbs in the HF spectrum (3 to 30 Mhz.) We have some reports in the VHF and UHF spectrum, but I am concerned just how clean their switched power supply's might be having many negative experiences with other consumer switching power supplys.

Take a trip to Vermont, spend a few days skiing, then stop at Home Depot and you can buy those exact same bulbs for $5 each. Or go visit Obama and go to a HD in DC, same price. Not sure about other states. They say limit 10 but I walked in and bout 24 a few weeks ago.

That is an amazing price... $5 for the CREE 60w 2700k LED 10 year bulbs.

Can't find anything anywhere close to that...

Likewise. I just looked at the receipt for the Cree 60/800/2700/9.5 watt I bought at HD a month ago. $12.97 in Northern California.

How the heck do you get them for $5?

Me too, I'd definitely pick some up if I could find them for $5! Just checked HD here, the 60W equivalent Cree is $12.95. Guess I'll wait a little longer and see if they drop

I replaced all of my recessed bulbs with LED. Be sure to get color temp under 3000K. Most of mine are 2700K
Cost me almost $1000 to do them all. Love them. One room had 9 65w bulbs. That's almost 600 watts. Now the whole room only draws 130 watts and is brighter because these produce 75 watts worth of light.
I don't worry about payback. It's done. As time goes, my electric bill will continue to be lower and I won't be buying bulbs often.

Today I had to put the electrical tape in my underwear.:D
usually I place the role on the drop lights bulb to heat it up But the LED was a no go.
Oh, did I mention some of the streeet directional lights have had trouble melting the snow from them? The solution was to unstall heat tapes of some sort to the fixture to melt the snow and ice.
Resulting in even more savings.lol:laughing:
