Hello
We just bought a LT 1045 2 months ago. All the tires are going flat. Our old mower never had flats, so I know it's not the yard. And trying to deal with customer service for Cub Cadet is a joke. They keep telling us that since we don't have the extended warranty, it's not covered. Aren't extended warranties supposed to cover when the regular warranty runs out? The manager at Home Depot said he has the same problem. Said to just put that green goo stuff in. I don't feel we should have to do that, considering what we paid for the mower. Sorry for the rant, just fed up and frustrated. So has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!!

Put the green stuff in (its called slime) and be done with it...I paid more on my mower but I dont expect the mfg or Home depot to be responsible for my flats. Whats not to say you get a new tire and it goes flat the first time you use it? you either have to get better tires (4 ply) find out whats puncturing your tires (nails, glass, etc), or use the green slime in all the tires...

You said that they are "going flat"......Could it be that there are slow leaks in them causing them to gradually go down? If so, I've never had a tubless lawn mower tire that didn't gradually leak. I've put tubes in them when they begin to leak too often for me to tolerate.

One thing to check is to make sure the valve stems are tight and not the source of the problem.

There is a chance it is a rim leak where the tire fits to the rim. This may be caused by paint, dirt etc.

Removing the tire, cleaning the rim and having some sealant wiped on the rim will usually cure this problem.

If there isn't enough pressure in the tire, sometimes the tires will roll as you go around corners and let air out. Always make sure that the tires are aired up to the correct amount before using.

I have problems with my front tires leaking because I was mowing in an area that has some briars. I got the Slime (Green Goo) and used that problem solved. I would check the valve stems, make sure the tires seal around the rim etc.
What is the warranty coverage on a Cub these days? When I got mine in 2003 it was 2 years for everything and 3 years for drive train. Has this changed?
Good Luck!

I disagree to some extent with some other posters. It needs to be determined that Cub didnt sell a defective tire or wheel. To just assume this is the consumers fault is not necessarily fair. He stated that his other mower didnt have problems, but he is having problems with ALL 4 tires on the Cub. Tires are typically not covered for very long under warranty, but I think they are for 90 days or so. I would continue to harass Cub till I got an answer. The store selling the unit also.
