Anyone else hooked on deadliest catch

One good thing about all those show, no matter how hard and miserable my day is - it ain't half as bad as any of their GOOD DAYS.

Makes me appreciate what I do a whole lot more.

I mean to see that on company with Millions of dollars of equipment and Liability issues one would lose sleep over and then he takes home like 5-10K a week - no thanks.

And those fishing guys, yep they bring in some good money, but for that kind of work - no thanks.

Ice truckers, fair money but your life could be gone in a second - no thanks.

I heard an interview with the skipper of the Time Bandit the other day. He wrote a book!

Anyway, turns out that 15 guys died this season. I only heard one story and that was that one of the guys had a rope wrap around his leg just as the pot was dropped...he was gone in an instant.

I think the rest were lost due to a ship sinking...not 100% sure about that.

It gets real this year. It looks like a big adventure but losing 15 guys to catch a few crabs sucks.

It makes me wonder if one one of the cast is killed. Seems that some of the drama in the preshow is serious. It might be the call when a ship is asked to help and they pull up a dead body? Its got me hooked.......

As I live in 'AxMen Country' I know some of these guys and I see them around town. I watched the whole series last year, but I only watched the opener this year. As it's been said before, much of it is dramatized. Most of the time it's dirty, hard work but that doesn't make for great TV viewing. However, it is dangerous too, I can personally vouch for that.

To get a local perspective, see the following:

Oregon loggers see tall tales in 'Ax Men' - OregonLive.com

I'm waiting for the next big reality show..."American Wheat Farmer" :D

It could happen...

Go to the history channel, click on the Ax Men link and find the video titled Dwayne's World. (strong language advisory in effect). I'd link to it, but this is a family friendly site. :)
