Anyone else waiting to see if tractors without the EPA stuff are coming?

Doubtful. These are globally marketed units, so I don't see a rollback on US units. Also, would you really change a design, when in 4 years we could change it all again?

I’m going to agree, probably not going to happen. As much as I hate all the emissions crap I’m not sure they should roll things back.

I think they should roll back emissions on off-road equipment. Burdening American manufacturers and farmers with this nonsense has gone far enough. I’m ok with simple emissions lowering, but adding $5,000 to the cost and thousands in repairs later down the road along with unreliability is too much to bear.

I actually hate the cooled EGR more that than the particulate filter or the DEF. The cooled EGR can cause a lot of engine harm.

These regulations put CAT & International out of the diesel over the road engine business. CAT made damn good diesel engines. IH reputation ruined, probably forever.

I mean, there are a lot of pre emissions units to be had if one is really so inclined. I shop for 100+hp Farmall tractors every week

I once read a report couple years ago that stated a Prius traveling 54 miles puts out the same emissions as a 60 cc chainsaw
What it didn’t say was how long the chainsaw would run to reach fifty four miles.

3 party companies have been illegally deleting the equipment the whole time it’s been mandated. All it takes is reprogramming the computer and redoing the exhaust. The manufacturer could pull off that redesign asap if it was legal and they could implement it again just as easily in 4 years if the laws change. I don’t think that the manufacturer would continue doing it given the chance to not. I mean they already aren’t. They aren’t importing that garbage to countries that don’t require it.

The other side of that coin is the only way to make something better is to dive in and make it - with the eventual goal of making it work better. That's what mech-heads do.

I don't like being forced by the gov't.. but that is what govenments do.
And while I don't like being forced from my own rut, as much as I hate to admit it the results are better.

Remember when automatic transmissions - known as "Slush Boxes" - were inefficient, slow, & unreliable? They could barely get out of their own way. Now they are marvels. Our new diesel truck has a 6 speed auto that is solid, powerful and quiet. And the diesel engine exhaust has no odor at all....doesn't even darken the tailpipe.

I was brought into this future kicking and screaming; now I wouldn't go backwards if you paid me.

Yes, you can turn off DEF/DPF equipment with a laptop. EGR’s require a physical block. IMO, if standards are rolled back, we should be able to shut it off ourselves.

Obviously a lot has changed Government wise in the USA

I was in the market for a new tractor (I have a 2015 Kioti 6010 now that I like) but wanted to step up to a bigger tractor

Long story short I’m waiting to see if any expected EPA announcements on tractor exhaust deregulation is coming

I heard it is very soon for trucks

I have been hearing of quite a few issues with EPA stuff but so far with close to 500 hours on my LS XR4155 I haven’t experienced any problems

China's non-road China IV emission standards also boast a huge diesel exhaust aftertreatment
There is no less than 50 horsepower, there is post-treatment above 50 horsepower, and diesel engine urea solution needs to be added above 200 horsepower
