How many folks buy cars, dozens of them over a life time? Most folk. I'm one of the most folks.:)

Was everyone "a perfect, long term 10+ years" fit? Of course not. How many cars get traded off or sold at the 3 to 5 year mark? A lot!!!! There is no stigma attached in doing so. Thanks, sometimes a littttle soooner.:)

Most folks only buy a few houses in the lifetime. It's difficult to pick up all one's stuff and move for one thing, but still, folks "out grow" or "down size" all the time. It just is a common occurrence. Yes, yes it is.

Somehow buying a tractor should be wildly different? I don't think so.
I'm glad you said this and you said it very well.

While I wouldn't encourage anyone to be frivolous about major purchases, such as cars, trucks, boats, or houses, but it seems there is a bit too much perfectionism, too much expectation that "THIS tractor will be my absolute final tractor purchase and I'll be keeping it for 30 years and pass it off to my kids", or some such. I was one of those when I bought my first life time mower with the expensive front wheelbarrow a BX2200 FEL MMM. Actually didn't know anything about Tractors or diesel other than a couple of months of asking, reading research. Didn't know about tractor forums then.

We rarely think that way about many of our other vehicles, boats, motorized toys, motorcycles, etc. There is some romantic notion of PawPaw's 30 year old tractor that is attached to this, somehow, perhaps. I dunno.

Well said and very thought provoking. I'm not encouraging people to be like me but your absolutely right, some times we buy before we know what we need and what the machine will really do and some times needs, desires and wants change.
Most, I believe, (some questioning of a dealer) Kubota buyers are BX and B buyers with most of those BX's. These buyers are residential large lot buyers that buy them for mowing and can afford something a bit more than the Home Depot, Lowe's out front riding mower. If the general public sees these Orange riding mowers around the neigborhood, as many of us have, they believe, as I did, that these are big heavy duty life time mowers. After they and me buy one we find out how much more than a mower they are and we start taking on bigger jobs and some times we decide we want to tackle even bigger jobs but we now have equipment to small. Stay where we are or spend the extra bucks and get a bit bigger one. Remember though that some times with the land we have we get all the big projects done to our satisfaction so it's come back down the ladder of size.
Most are satisfied with the jobs they are doing and don't want to tackle bigger jobs. So, there are the satisfied with what I have and everyone that has one like mine should be satisfied and if anyone is hunting one they need one just like mine.
Then there are those of us that want to step up, go where no man has gone before.:) GOT INTO THE MOMENT AND GOT CARRIED AWAY.:D
Good Day, I'm done.:D
