Have you checked around for the real thing from land clearing/logging companies?
I think i would use plywood not osb. But yes i probably could do that. That’s a good idea.OP, can you plan ahead and put some 2x4's under the OSB and have them stick past the edges to allow getting a chain under them to lift the up? Just wondering if that would break the suction force. Jon
Yeah, missed the plywood vs OSB. JonI think i would use plywood not osb. But yes i probably could do that. That’s a good idea.
I’m thinking i might cut the large sheets into 4x4 or 2x4 pieces.
I have to dig a trench. But the area is soupy in spots. Its part of a field. I hear you on the mini ex. That is the best solution, mini ex with bog mat but i don’t have either. We were out there w the tractor yesterday and it did decent enough, just kind of sank in a few of these spots which seem like plywood may be able to assist with. What are you trying to do with the tractor that you need to cross the mud? Would it be more effective to spread some stone if this is to become a repeated operation? Digging a drainage ditch an option?
Rental stores have rubber mats for rent but they are very heavy and hard to move.
Trying to move mats with a TLB will be difficult at best. An mini ex would allow you to pick up the mat behind you and move it to the front of you.
If this is a one time thing you might be able to cut some brush or tree branches and "pave the road" by laying them across your pathway.
I haven't tried it, but would horse stall mats work? Pretty heavy.
