Anyone ever drove over plywood on soft grass or mud w their tractor?

A while back I used old chain link fence I had laying around. Worked well, but It needs to be staked down to avoid curling after you run over it a few times.

If the ground is dry enough that the plywood and tractor could potentially work a mini excavator can drive straight across without doing anything. I’d just rent a mini x and dig the ditch with a lot less effort than dragging around plywood in the heat.

That’s interesting and not something i was aware of. We have thought of renting a mini ex.

I cut the grass using my quad and a toe behind flail mower which weights 609 lbs. the tires didn’t even get wet that’s why i thought it was good to go with the tractor.

But once we got to a certain point it just sank.

Wood mulch/chips and tree branches and logs or anything like that you can stack up in the wet areas and 4x4 over. The branches and mulch and logs will get pounded into the mud but will provide support.

This is a pretty common way to get around in soupy areas when you are trying to clear the land.

I haven't drove across it. But threw some old pieces down so my son in law and his buddy could run a wheel barrow through a soft patch in his yard.

I got sick and tired of watching them struggle and have to tag team it while they unloaded a load of compost out of my truck.

I can truthfully say - NO, I've never driven my tractor on plywood. I've had to pull plywood up and out of a muddy spot. Not fun - the suction makes it stick like glue. I have a couple areas that could become a problem during the spring wet season. Fortunately - I have high/dry land that lets me get around these spots.

If the ground is that soft, why not shovelize that ditch? Dig a well point or two and dry the area up some.

True. Anything that spreads out the load over a wider area and lessens the PSI.
