Anyone ever hear or use Grass Pave?

/ Anyone ever hear or use Grass Pave? #12
I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping to see if anyone has a lower cost solution. I have a couple spots on my lawn that are compacted (due to narrow passageway), sloped (dry) and shaded. I can pick up bricks for a dime a piece and was thinking of laying them on their side in an open grid pattern level with the surface so the weight of a tractor (1500 #, turf tires) would mostly be supported by the bricks. Grass or ground cover can grow in the open sections.

Total area is less than 50 square feet. Has anyone tried something similar?

Thanks in advance!

I would be concerned that the bricks are not pavers and they would crack over time. Also bricks will soak up water and if you get freezing temperatures....

I don't know if it would grow grass but there was a discussion years ago about a product that was tilled/disced into the soil. The product would firm up the soil to handle traffic. Maybe SoilCrete?

Later,
Dan
