Anyone ever heard of losing the dipstick on DK50???

Whoops, I read your post again, and I guess you have lost the ENGINE OIL dipstick. Sorry. I am guessing a friendly branch helped you out there. As it sets down pretty low below the hood so you can check it without opening the hood.

I've been known to get into some pretty deep and skanky weeds... but I'm not thinking very often they get close to the oil dip stick.

But I'd rather that than it got sucked into the engine... I just recently paid all this stuff off, LOL...

UPDATE!!!!!

Sometime in I want to say March of this year I FOUND THE DIPSTICK!

It was laying in a seldom used tractor road I saw a faded orange spot in the dead grass when walking the dog early one morning, picked it up and Voila` it was the missing dipstick!

I cleaned it off and put it back in.

Might be the first time EVER procrastination paid off!

How do you know that is the one you lost...??? Maybe you absconded with some other poor soles lost dipstick...??? I'm going to fire up my air scribe tomorrow and put my name on all of mine... [[[ ]]]

Congratulations, David! Yep, procrastination is sometimes rewarded.

I'm hoping one of these days to look down and find my fuel cap to my NX. :laughing: I figure I set it on my hood then forgot it.

That won't happen anymore. Had to replace it right away, and even from the good folks at MIE it was about $45 with shipping. Didn't have time to search for a cross-over.

Unless you know the dipstick was not seated or something pulled it out, recommend you check for excessive blow-by or crankcase over-pressure.

I did once on my Gravely. Saw it happen, luckily. After that, I turned the dipstick handle up against the engine block.
