Anyone experienced in Vinyl Fence Washing??

Had I known vinal fencing would the green mold / mildew on it I would never put it up

Well ... I don't know about that. Just look at some of the pipe fence around here. I'll put up with the green mold, mildew and etc ... rather pressure wash a fence than paint a rusted pipe fence.

I used some stuff called Jomax (walmart/lowes/home depot) that did a good job cleaning vinyl siding.. It is a detergent that you mix with bleach.. Spray it on (using pump sprayer).. let it soak in and the mold/mildew etc starts to run off.. Rinse with water and your done.. May take a couple times if really dirty..

Instead, I use a pump sprayer with Jomax in it and spray down the house. I then come back and rinse it off. The results are always very impressive.

Jomax is made by Zinser, who makes the best primer available. It's good stuff!!!!

just a few words of advice for anyone using Jomax or any other bleach mixture.. DO NOT spray above your head without wearing a mask of some sort..

I was on a ladder spraying directly above my head (trying to reach the second story using a 6' ladder) and the overspray was falling back down on me.. I ended up with chemical burns in my nose from the bleach - but a copay at the dr and a steriod nasal spray cleared it right up.. LOL

I use a gas powered pressurewaser to clean house,concret and fence. I use a solution of 5 gals water, 1gal bleach, and 2cups of liquid laundry detergent. Put the solution in a pumpup sprayer and spray work area from top to bottom, let set for couple of minutes and then power wash. Usually a garden hose wil take grime off after the solution has been sprayed on.

I use this product on my house and anywhere mildew and grime grows. I mix it 4:1. Spray on, let it sit for 15 mins and spray off. Spray it off with as little pressure and a garden hose. Of course, use of a pressure washer makes quick work. I got the product at a local home improvement store. Well worth the money.

I have always had great success cleaning vinyl siding and vinyl products with the following method: I mis one part water with one part clorox (or dollar store bleach), one cup of Spic n' Span concentrate, and about 3 ounces of Dawn. All mixed up in a cheap hand sprayer and sprayed onto the already wet down surface. Let sit for a few minues.

Dwepending on how bad the mold/mildew is, I usually spray down with clear water after the application; if real bad, I will scrub down the wall using a "siding brush" on a telescoping pole, only light action is needed.

Rinse down thoroughly, viola, looks like a new wall/new house. One other thing, when applying the cleaning solution, I always start at the bottome and go up. That eliminates streaking as that solution is pretty strong.

P.S.--that comment about Zinser, yes I agree 100+%, it is the best primer on the retail market. Great product!
