( I took it that when ramon said low gear and crawl speed, that he was talking about gear drive and not the HST.
I was talking about my tractor, which is HST, )

I read "show all posts" in Ramon's profile.
In an earlier post he indicated the his 3130 is Hydro..

ramon49:

Please, tell me what tractor you owned previously that really perfomed well for you. This way, I can compare your problems today with the performance of a previously owned tractor.

I have a L3130 HST and have had NONE of the problems you described. Mine has worked flawlessly up and down all my property. I have three creeks running into my pond and Im constantly working my tractor the same as you.

I have found the design to be a SUPERIOR design than compared to the other tractors I considered.

I load, dig, drag and clear brush up and down hills all the time with my L3130HST. Never have I experienced what you describe.

Take the tractor to the dealer and get it fixed or get a new one. Don't know who you called, but it doesn't sound like you called the right person. Many on this site have warned that the choice of dealer is as important as the choice of tractor. I looked on Kubota's site for the dealers around Stockton, CA and found the following... hope this helps:

These are the three closest Kubota dealers within a radius of 100 miles from STOCKTON , CA.

I think it needs pointed out again that when you have these kind of issues you should be calling your local dealers and not Kubota to get the issue resolved. They are not setup to be responding to individual customer problems.

My L-3130GST with LA723 is a DOG too, a ferocious highly trained attack German Shepard that snarls, growls, and rips to shreds anything and everything in its path. During the first 600 hours on it this past year it has torn through dozens of huge stumps, graded dozens of miles of roads, transported hundreds of cubic yards of dirt and stone, and subdued everything it came in contact with on our property. All without a single solitary whimper, and all I do is feed it BP Supreme 50 cetane #2 diesel and Amsoil 10W-40..... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Time for you to teach your dog some new tricks, or else allow that dog to at least teach you a couple!

I'm sure you also are aware of the limitations of the L3130 as I am of my L3830. You work around it. After using industrial equipment, there are times you wish you had it for some jobs and plenty of times your happy you have a far more agile, smaller and more useful tractor with the compact.

Sure it's underpowered for it's chassis size. 3430 is the same machine and I'm suspicious the 3830 nearly identical (slightly longer wheelbase). So is my JD 325 17 hp lawn tractor.... underpowered. It could handle 25 hp gas and ought to have it. I'm not that impressed with the power on mine either, but if you work the engine at rated RPM, assuming it doesn't have another motor issue beyond too small size, and use some sense in expectations from 30 HP and nearly 8,000 lbs. as mine is loaded with filled tires and BH, it is a very versitle and impressive machine. Mine did grunt today in 8" of snow on the backblade and pulling a very, very steep hill. I just backed of the pedal a little in low range and she quit complaining. As for the chassis. It is flat out incredible. Nothing JD offers in this area at that price compares. You do have to both horse it (motor) and baby it (pedal)!! So it takes a few more minutes in a few hours???

Oops, that's one way to find out. I guess I got mixed up with his choice of wording.

I'll say there is no lack of power when it comes to moving some serious snow! I started in L range and moved it up to M for some cleanup. When I started in on my parking area I forgot and left it in medium range and had NO problem. That thing had a 2' high curl going on and was pushing snow 6' in front of the back blade.

Maybe it IS your tractor ramon. My B7500 used to experience a 300 rpm power loss when it got warmed up and no one else here was experiencing this problem with theirs. Maybe you got a "Friday" tractor.
