4-in-1 Anyone got a used 4in1 they want to sell?

Hmmm, 5 hours from Philly to Pittsburgh & back, total 10 hours & 40 gallons of diesel fuel, that's $110 bucks, I work 6 days/week and have 2 kids in 3 sports each..........

I was hoping to find something more like within 100-150 mi.

Ya,Ya, Ya, and your kids probably have to walk up hill through 3' of new snow everyday to and from school.:D Either take the 7th day for yourself and go and get it, or pay to have it shipped to you. If you are working 6 days a week, it sounds like you have more money than time. Something usually has to give, you or your wallet. Just kidding around, just keep looking, one is bound to show up sooner or later. .

Good luck

You're right! I gotta stop whining!!!

Truthfully, the one I found 300 miles away looked like a rusted pile of junk sitting in a pile of cold snow. I think I'll look elsewhere. :)

The one in Tennessee looks pretty new.

I bought mine via ebay based on some photos. Had it shipped to my house. No problemo.

Just be sure you really want a 4n1. I recall you used to have a big TLB so have probably used them before. I like but don't love mine. Rather have a grapple or a standard bucket for most tasks but the 4n1 does come in handy at times.

What is it with 4 in 1s anyway? Last weekend I was looking at one that looked like it was new, the guy said that he had only used it 2 times, wouldn't sell it by itself though. Thought that I would give it a try, but the guy wouldn't bite.:( Bought some other stuff though for a very good price.

Maybe next time, and leave the junk alone.;)

The appeal is the same as a Swiss Army Knife. Seems like it can do just about anything and it can but it doesn't do anything particularly well.

I know, it is just that it seems like they are a little more popular lately for what ever reason.

They're handy for me for 2 specific tasks:

1. when cleaning up the final small piles around the jobsite, you just open the 4 in 1, then push the smaller piles like a dozer blade, come to a stop and close the bucket. It just gathers the dirt up and I don't even have to use the flat shovel to clean up the "crumbs" on the ground.

2. They're great for reaching over block walls and dumping stone in a more controlled manner.

My L-35 Kubota had one and I never took it off. I used it as a GP bucket and it never failed me, then I had the 4/1 feature whenever i needed it. Probably because it was a real Bobcat bucket, they were really strong compared to some of the lightweight junk you see out there today.

I agree that for those tasks the 4n1 is very useful. My main use is for when I am digging out stumps with my BH. I can lift the stump out with the 4n1, place it aside, then use the dozer/bucket combo to fill in the hole before picking the stump up again and moving it to the trash site. Hard to fill holes with a grapple! However, considering that a new one goes for close to $2K, I held off until a deeply discounted used one jumped out of ebay at me one night. I still consider it to be well below my grapple in terms of usefulness and if I had a bucket grapple I would just make do rather than adding a 4n1.

I think the regualr 4/1 bucket might be more useful to me since i do a lot more dirt moving than you in my business. I'm just guessing, but I bet you do a lot more "farm/ranch" type work than me, so a grapple bucket would be less useful to me. :)

You are correct. I do mostly brush clearing, preparing fields and dealing with stumps. No construction, no wall building etc.

Again, I have a 4n1 and am not selling it because I do find it useful. It just isn't at the top of my FEL implement list.:)
