There really isn't any cheap paint anymore. The Rustoleum brand and TSC JD paint in spray cans is expensive.
I'm thinking to get the most "bang for your buck" do what others suggested and get a gallon of outdoor house paint matched as close as possible at the big box stores. Buy some cheap brushes and go to town.:)

The RUST-OLEUM brand "Specialty Farm Equipment" John Deere green matched my John Deere #46 backhoe exactly.
I also bought their fast drying primer. Realy dried fast!
Found mine at Lowes'

That is a good price considering the fact that even if you buy a gallon of paint you still would need extra thinner to clean a gun and the extra time too. For the person who has small projects to paint or touch up this looks reasonable to me.

If you are painting an implement then yes, the Lowe's and or Home Depot paints will work just great. They are odor free and match pretty darn close. If you are trying to match a paint that is on a John Deere tractor to touch up spots, then just so so. Better than nothing. The only down side I saw in painting things using the Lowe's paints is the drying time. They dry to touch in a short time, but dry to be really hard and durable takes some time (days).

I have used both the color match system and Lowe's John Deere colors in their computer system.

The ammo boxes for tool storage are both done in Lowe's color match. As is the PFSDU (Portable Fuel Storage and Dispensing Unit).
The rear blade is done with Tractor Supply John Deere paint.

Let me give myTBN friends a clue.

Anytime you want to buy anything on the net, get the info then go to TheFind - Every Store, All at Once and enter it, then sort it by lowest price. Ebay is good too.
THE FIND can be incredible, ya got to remember to sort by LOWEST price...

BigD9 I agree I wouldn't want to paint an area such as a hood with a spray can.

Was thinking about bringing a sample in and trying to match the yellow and green as close as possible for implements. Anyone on here already did this and have a code or something for Behr or what evever? Doesnt have to be exact. Close would be nice becuase I have some implements from tsc that appear to be the old caterpillar yellow paint. Thanks in advance and im sure others would appreciate this info. I will report back if i have any success.

Find a matching Rustoleum color for implements or use the Valspar at Tractor Supply. As far as I know Behr doesn't makes house paint, not automotive paint. I painted this old wheel disc that I restored with Rustoleum red. It's been weathered about 3 years in this photo.

I painted this drop seeder with the same red paint a few months ago.

Good luck

I agree with Flusher, and note that the OP was looking for something to touch up old implements not paint his tractor hood.

Update:
I took the pictured john deere bracket to home depot and they used their computer to match it. Pretty darn good match i should say. Plenty good enough for implements if you need a can of jd green and you dont feel like driving to tsc or waiting for it to come by mail. Hope this helps afew people out. Just write down the numbers on the can i have pictured and they will make you as much as you want in 5 minutes. Sorry about the poor lighting in the pictures.

This is before throwing a quick paint on it. Its the peice a brought in for sample

This is the bracket after i threw a few swipes on it with a brush and no prep work. A little prep work and a spray gun, i bet it would come out as good as factory paint.
