That's a sharp rig for sure! What's your pin weight? Looks like the truck is handling it just fine.

If I jump I'd probably go with black. Wish I could get the dark earth interior with the black ext. in the XLT.

I love those new dualy fenders!! These new trucks with that fender remind me of my old '97. I always thought that design looke d the best of all. This may have topped that!

Don't know. Swapped over to monster ramps on the trailer and back the shredder on now. It doesn't help having a 600 lb compressor on the neck either. It rides real nice with the weight. Just wish it had a little more spring under it. My trailer is 10k empty and will put quite a bit of weight on the truck too. Need to get across the scales

Mine has the 3.55's, and if you aren't towing 20k+ regularly, I wouldn't bother with the 4.10 gears. This thing has so much torque it's unbelievable. My fifth wheel weighs 9.5-10k lbs loaded, and with it behind me, it rarely downshifts. On a recent trip from central MO to KC, I think it downshifted twice on the whole trip.

My lifetime average (hand calc'd) is 13.7 MPG. That is with a mix of towing, highway, and city miles.

Sometimes more rpms is more fuel efficient. Kinda weird how that works. An example would be my 7.3L. When driving the empty truck the rpms need to stay below 2K for premium mileage. Hitch up my GN with a couple Jeep Buggies onboard and I need to stay above that 2K mark to get best mileage. I drive 65mph empty, 75mph loaded. Personal experience may vary.

Well my 17 F-450 KR is in the shop now. The day before yesterday when I pulled up to the hotel we were staying at it sounded like it was knocking at idle. Revved it up and the noise went away. The next day the check engine light came on and it stayed on all day. Got home last night and had an appointment to take it to the dealer today. This morning when I was driving it to the dealer the check engine light had gone off. They just called and they found a bad injector. They have to order one and it won't be here until next week. Truck has just under 13,000 miles on it.

Have you changed the fuel filters yet? I doubt you have to deal with a lot of water in the fuel issues, but have you drained the water sepator?

As far as injectors go, one going out is a fluke, two is a problem. Keep us posted.

I've also talked to a couple of people that had bad injectors on newer trucks and it was "bad fuel". I call BS, they keep a jar of bad fuel laying around and show it to the customer. Hopefully the above post isn't the case.

I don't know this for a fact, just pure speculation on my part. Didn't happen to me but to two different people I met through work a few years ago. One was a Dodge with a Cummins and the other was a Ford with a diesel. At the time when they described what happened, I felt the dealer should have fixed them under warranty but the owner got stuck with the bill.
