Lights in the front are fine, but reversing in the dark proves a bit harder!! Anyone fab up a light in the back?

Make any decisions yet?

I installed the Kubota OEM rear lights on my 5030HSTC.

The switch and lights are plug and play, but I had to call my wrench to find the wires in the rear.

Like Tx John said, you lift the cab lid, and install the switch; it just snaps into an open slot, and there is a plug connector ready for it right there.

The wiring at the rear is not intuitive. It concealed in black electrical tape and taped to the rear flasher bracket. If you did not know it was there, you would not unwind the tape to find it.

With all of that, I am disappointed with Kubota work lights. They are dim candles.

I am thinking of switching to these: OPTRONICS COMPETITION SERIES DRIVING LIGHTS - CarParts Quality Discount Parts and Accessories

Regardless of the page info (I did independent research on the product.), these are actually MR16 bulbs (like JD uses on their construction line) and quite bright. 12 volt MR16 bulbs in all degree spreads are easy to find for small $.

I also was disappointed with the factory rear work lights on my 3430hstc. I have since boughta new 3240hstc and it has much much brighter rear and front work lights. They look like they bolt up the same way as did the 3430hstc lights. Just another option.

The (now removed) lamps on my B3030 have H3's @ 35W, other models use the more common 55W version of the same bulb. 100W's can be used if you have the amperage and sufficient wiring.

Yes, I need to get a switch from the dealer and pull the roof off to verify wires. I'm so darn busy right now it's not funny. Eventually I'll start researching what light to run. Thanks for all the input!!

Well I decided just to order the Kubota rear light kit. $121 with lights, mounts and switch. It's plug and play. I'm sure I could have done it for less but it isn't worth it to me.

I thought the rear lights on my 08 Grand L 4240 was one of it's strong points and I would have thought all Grand cab models came with factory rear lights. Must just be a Canadian thing

I just put a pair of these OPTRONICS COMPETITION SERIES DRIVING LIGHTS - CarParts Quality Discount Parts and Accessories on my 5030.

I am highly impressed. They put out at least twice the light as my OEM Kubota work lights that I replaced. The write up on them on the web page is wrong. They are 50 watt MR16 bulbs; very bright and they come with wiring and switch. Can't beat the price either.

(since I was already wired and switched, I was plug and play.)

I am buying a second set to replace my rear oem Kubota work lights. I got the idea of mr16 work lights after I saw them on a Deere dozer.

Well I'm very pleased with the OEM Kubota rear light kit. Took me no time to install and plenty of light. Now I went the cheap route on ebay for some "flood lights" for my bobcat mini excavator and those weren't quite up to par. They are more of a fog light than a flood light. Oh well, can't win them all..
