Anyone have a LED dusk to dawn pole light?

They have one at Sams for 60 bucks. Is the amount of light porvided comparable to the old school dusk to dawn lights?

I don't have one, but if I was in the market, I would compare the lumens output of both models to use as a guide.

I've been using led since they first came out. You get higher lumens for less wattage. Equal 1000 watts for 200 watts of power.

Not my own but I do have one that the power company provided when they replaced my old burned out unit about a year ago. The old unit was burned out for awhile so I cannot compare but it seems pretty bright.

I have the sams light mounted to a pole barn. Decent light but not as bright as the street lights .

I traded out my sodium lamp, removed the extra hardware and installed a regular LED lamp on a simple photocell. I don't have or need very many watts, my LED flood lights turn on when they detect motion. I just want some light so I can see if anything is going on. I really like LED lights.

Yes, I have a LED area security light on my Barn and it works great. I looked at the one at Sam's, 3,500 Lumens at 42 Watts, but went with a brighter one, 5,500 lumens witch uses 53 Watts. But the real difference was the area lighted. The one from Sam's is more of a spot light not an area light. Of course it cost more but you get what you pay for.

That is what I had until the unit burned out. didn't replace it but should have. IMO a yard light that is on all night is about useless and does help hout the dirt bags - gives them light to see by. I have two neigbors who run them, one of them had a new truck stolen right out fromunder the yard light. They are far enough off the highway that the kids, whose prior ride ran out of gas almost at their entry road, would not even had known the house was there had it not been for that stupid light. Glad they did though as my house was only a 100 yeards down the highway.

Mine came from Rural King or a big box store and I think cost around $35. Brighter than you would expect and the bulb seems to last six or more years. Works excellent and zero problems. Perps prefer the dark.

I have one LED security light mounted on the peak of a storage building. For my liking, the light isn't nearly bright enough. Perhaps I'm wanting too much light for a night light though. Power use or lack thereof, is great. If it lasts for 6 years, I'll be happy. I'm only getting 2 years per bulb on two other normal (cheap) security lights.

LEDs are improving really fast as far as power and cost going down. No doubt as I replace any lights the preference will be LED.
