Yeah that was a must-have of my wife's when we redid the master bath ages ago. It was used a few times. No idea if it still works. Looks cool but the bother of filling it and cleaning it...Ive hooked up power to about a dozen of them…..unless you plan ventilation, gfci all lighting and gasket them to prevent moisture intrusion , and a way to get steam out of the room…..you will hardly ever use it.
Just like jacuzzi tubs. When i talk to customers….no one ever uses them.
We also have a hot tub. It's about 30 years old now; the frame and sides started disintegrating and about 10 years ago I built a new frame and dropped the tub into the new frame, as well as sectional sides so I could easily get at innards on any side because I was expecting leaks. There was one minor leak at one point but currently dry under the tub.
We use the hot tub sporadically.. I definitely appreciate having it after hard work days, but I can't stand using a hot tub if it's been a hot day, I'm just done with heat. Love it in the winter, though, and we have reasonably dark skies so it's nice to simmer in the tub and watch the sky.
Would I buy a hot tub now? Maybe. Definitely wouldn't buy a jacuzzi tub though.
