Anyone have elderly parent(s) at their home problems?

If I get a telephone scammer I tell them that I would be very happy to do business with them but before that can take place they need to leave a security deposit with my lawyer. For some reason they don't like the term "security deposit".

I'm on telemarketers doo-doo list. Here's how...believe me, it works!
Years ago I used to order whatever they were selling, of course with fake info (name, address,etc.)
No more calls...until along comes spoofing. A call would show on caller i.d. very similar to friend, family, etc. so I'd answer. I'd get some guy from India selling knee braces, lower my credit card fees, car warranty, etc.
I would act interested, again giving fake credit card # (visa starts 4...16 digits). Basically keeping them on line long as possible. It was painful for me...wasting time...but it worked. Calls got fewer and fewer, now zero.

That is what I do to. Duct cleaning. Do I have a furnace. What does it look like. I will go look. Waste their time. Finally establish that I have electric heat. One guy from India called me in the middle of the night. I asked him if he was retarded and kept asking that everytime he would try and speak. Then he said that he wouldnt stop calling me, saying he wasnt going to let me sleep.

Here's another tactic for India callers like that. Google search English to Indian translate. The translator lets you type in anything you want. So "go away from here" translates to "yahaan se chale jao". Press the speaker symbol and you can hear it (This sounds like ya-ha-see-say-yah-ho).
So now listening over a few times memorize it...or simply record it.
I don't want to curse here but use your imagination what I recorded!
They called me like that, I simply told them off in Hindi.

it's not just the elderly who are targeted......we live far off the road and had a nice looking pickup truck drive up to the house one day....two guys got out with one coming to the front porch where he says they're lost and need some help.....other guy slowly goes to tailgate of truck and hangs there for a moment.......then when he thinks I'm not looking he sneaks around the side of the house and into the back yard......I realize immediately whats up.....one guy distracts you while the other guy sneaks in house and steals whatever he can ........I wait a moment and then hear a loud scream followed by growling and barking.......seems the potential thief hadn't counted on running into my irish wolfhound and my Pyrenees who didn't take kindly to an intruder on their property.......with close to a combined weight of 300# of dogs chasing him the guy comes running back to the truck yelling "get in the truck" and off they go.......I called the description and plate number in to 911 so I don't imagine they got to far.......Jack

I had someone keep calling my cell today, they then texted asking who I was.
I texted back, Im the number you've been calling all day, who are you.

Was my exchange, I expect they had gotten calls that was spoofing my number.
