Now that this thread is wandering and pontificating.........:confused2:

Oxygen is not, itself, flammable or explosive. But anything flammable in the presence of pure oxygen will be much more reactive. That is while we use oxy-acetylene torches instead of just pure acetylene torches.

i think he's generalizing along the same lines as the warnings in my regulator manuals.. ie.. no grease, oil or flamables to be used on the fittings for the 02 tanks..
