My local TSC just got a shipment of XB series attachments from king kutter - supposed to be geared toward compact tractors. I am in the market for a cheap cutter - anyone have pricing on these yet?

Will,
I just drove by the TSC in Canandaigua today and they seem to have alot more impliments sitting in the lot than a couple days ago. You may want to check them out. Located on route 332 (north main st). Hope this helps.

I haven't seen any XB stuff here in the heartland as of tonight. I did see a "King Kutter II" tiller here for about two days before it sold. I saw the King Kutter II on KK's website but nothing about anything called "XB" there. They did seem to have more implements than I've ever seen there before. They literally had some rotary mowers stacked two high on big styrofoam blocks and some crated finish mowers stacked in their respective crates. Any chance there's a big sale coming??? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No experience, but I've had one on order with my local TSC for about 3 weeks now (sure wish it would come in--it's starting to get deep out there).
I called King Kutter and they indeed said that the XB series of implements were specifically designed for not just the compact tractors, but the sub-compacts as well, like the Kubota BX series sub-compacts.
I think my TSC quoted me a price of $625.
Cheers,

I guess we're neighbors. I live in Mendon and I've visited TSC in Canandaigua a few weeks ago. I was interested in a 6ft box scraper. I was VERY disappointed in the paint quality of the KK line. But for the price they seem pretty mechanically sound.

If I'm reading this right it sounds like either the KK prices are higher in the NY region (possibly due to higher shipping from AL, where they're made) or that the new XB line is more money than the standard line or both. Has anyone with access to both compared the prices between the two?

Re: Anyone have experience/price on the king kutte
Gary, I've compared both on price only. XB is always a little higher due to special order. The locals around here don't stock them. I think without the extra "special order" the price would be pretty close but the XB is lighter duty.

I have been asking my local TSC about the XB line since early this year when I picked up a brochure....they keep saying "three weeks" on delivery. I am waiting on the 4FT BB for my 2210 but would like to see the entire line. The brochure had the XB line in black versus the normal yellow. What color at the implements you've seen?
From what little info they gave me, the boxblades were priced cheaper than most others so I'm expecting average construction and quality.
Yes....the XB line is targeted at the Kubota BX / JD 2210 size of scut.

<font color="green">The XB implements I saw were a red color with black lettering and black stripes - a much different color scheme than the mustard color used by KK for their other implements.

I've been trying to get an XB middlebuster from TSC since February. I finally gave up on TSC and ordered it from another dealer in the area. It arrived yesterday and I am a little disappointed in the quality. There are a lot of runs in the paint and some of the welds are sloppy.
It is painted black.

The XB's that I saw were kubota orange, and better quality overall than the regular yellow kk's. For instance, the welds were neater, paint much better, and there were 2 rear wheels on the 5' XB vs 1 on the KK. They were both rotary mowers, not finish mowers. I forgot to look to see if the geometry of the 3pt was different. I do not have a subcompact, so I wouldnt want it too small.

Re: Anyone have experience/price on the king kutte
At Orschelns (local TSC equivalent I guess) yesterday, I noticed a BX cutter sitting beside a larger KK cutter. Didn't pay too much attention as I'm not in the market, but I did note that the top deck of the XB was bolted on using angle iron along the sides, rather than welded as in the KK. Also, they had one KK finish mower on it's side in a crate and I saw about a 1" ridge running just behind the middle blade along the top deck. I guess this is for strength, but it sure looks like a great place for cut grass to hang up.

I have a KK XB dirt scoop for my Kubota BX 2200 (there's a lot of 2 letter abbreviations).
Works great - very well constructed. It's a poor man's FEL that saved me countless hours last summer moving stone mulch around and doing some minor landscaping. Sized great for the BX.
