I have a 2016 Modern Ag 15' Predator rotary cutter. I got behind on my mowing this summer, and my little 7060 is struggling to cut and discharge the old Argentine Bahia with Mesquite and Huisatche saplings mixed in. Yes, it is under powered, but it has always done the job, just takes a while longer. The ground is so rough from hogs rooting, I have to go slow anyway. But if that old Bahia gets long, it's tough to cut.
I always been curious as to why it throws a huge windrow out the center of the back. Might be good if I was baling it, but I'm not, and it smothers the grass/weeds under the cover of the windrow. The blade rotation is standard as far as I can determine. The manual shows the center and right wing rotating CC and the left wing is CW. This looks to me like it takes a lot of horsepower to cut and mulch all that material and get it out the back end. On top of that, the shredder is very heavy(5600 lbs) and only had six wheels on the back(instead of eight like it should have) which sink into to the deep thatch of the old Bahia.
The old Terrain King I had years ago just scattered the cuttings in all directions, which is what I wanted it to do. It didn't have any "projectile guards" on the sides, or back, or front. I was pulling it with a 46 hp Fiat. The Fiat will barely pull the shredder much less cut grass. :)
It looks to me like swapping the positions of the wing cutters would discharge the cuttings to the sides, and out the back along the sides using less horsepower ?? . I don't know if it would be worth the trouble to do it. Just wondered if anyone had any experience or thoughts about it. Thanks in advance for any comments. It's been a long time since I posted, but I've been following and enjoying the forum, Thanks

My rhino TS10 is the same way. Makes a perfect annoying windrow, I tried to switch the wing gear boxes but couldn't get the stump jumper off, didn't want to heat it up. I was told this is a government safety issue to keep from slinging material out the side, especially when mowing road side ditches.
