Looks like you stole a pretty nice unit as long as the gearbox is in good shape along with the bearings. Some sand blasting and paint and it'll look just like you got a new one. Nice purchase!!!!!

Hmm...You do realize that this tread is 8 year old right? :welcome: to TBN!

Why do you worry how old a tread is? I wonder if your the same type who will say that new members should search through old trreads instead of starting new treads.

:confused3: If you are searching for someone to argue with you this morning, you are barking at the wrong tree my friend. Hope your day ends better than it started. :)

Just thought I might share some of these action pictures from years ago.

JD 770 with 60 Inch Blower, Doing my 1000 foot driveway. Never bothered to put the big blower into operation that winter.

Once you have a front mount, you are spoiled for good!

I think the Blower was actually easier to mount then the belly mower. Always had trouble getting the mower PTO shaft on as it was in the most awkward spot.

Would have been nicer to have a hydro for sure though, even though there weren't any large frame, large wheel, compacts back then with Hydro I believe.

Not trying to start an argument. I just dont understand knocking someone for reviving an old tread. Dont worry, your not the first nor the last. Cheers.

Personally, I would keep the x55 setup. The quick-hitch mounting bracket installs and removes in just a few minutes.... and the 70A loader can be installed without removing the blower mount. Takes about 5 minutes to drop the blower and mount the loader. Makes switching between the two quick and easy.

Hello, I have a John Deere 770 and just read your old post! I just bought the 59 inch snowblower(12/14/2019) for my JD770! I too have about 1000 feet to do. I am in central NY. I dont have a cab yet and have not tried the snowblower yet either. How did you and your JD like the snowblower? Thanks john from NY
