Kubota B2710
Need to upgrade seat on my Kubota B2710 to something that's easier on my back over rough ground. Looking at two styles of suspension seats.

1. The first style has the whole seat assembly suspended by either springs or a hydraulic cylinder behind the backrest.

2. The second style has springs under the seat bottom.

The first style has longer travel than the second, so I'm thinking it will be better on rough bumps. I have a New Holland with a seat very similar to the first one, and I really like it but have never used the second type. I've looked at air suspension, but they're just a bit too far off the price scale.

Any experiences welcome to help with decision.

The first seat you listed by Northern Tool is similar to one I bought at Tractor Supply. Northerns is rated for 300 lb. the TSC one is 265. I'm only 210 lb. so the TSC seat worked for me.
I replaced the fixed (no suspension) seat on my Mahindra 2615 HST and it made a world of difference to me in ride comfort. The hard bumps now had suspension give and it was only $100.
I have not seen or used the second seat style.

I have one like the northern tool seat that I got at my local Atwoods farm and ranch store for about $100 and it too works very well to smooth out the bumps. I had it on my garden tractor but removed it prior to selling it. I now have it on my zero turn lawn mower and it helps to smooth out the bumps. It isn't as good as a true hydraulic seat but at about 1/10th of the price I can sure live with it.

For $350 you should get something a lot better than a seat with just adjustable springs. I think that one with the spring in the back is way over-priced if that is all it has.
Michigan seats are highly recommended but I have no experience with them. They should have in addition to springs some kind of hydraulic shock system also for that price.

Well I bought the second style, the Michigan V5300, from Northern Tool. The packing was so poor the thing was damaged so I sent it back. They put a 55# seat in a flimsy cardboard box with no packing, so one of the attachment bolts was broken off the bottom sliding rail. There was some other damage too, can't understand why they wouldn't put 50cents worth of packing peanuts in a box with a $350 seat. The seat seemed really nice, I put it on the ground and sat on it. I'll try to find a different place to buy it from, the reviews on Northern's site for this seat shows a lot of people had the same problem.

You might want to explore getting the seat suspension hardware from a B2910 and retrofitting it to your B2710

I'm betting it would fit (if still available)

That would allow you more choices of (cheaper) non-suspension seats
