( There is one issue, though. When the backhoe is removed and you're running with a 3pt hitch, make very sure that the stabilizer arms do not swing into the subframe during lifting. I must use only certain holes in the stabilizer arm or risk bending the arm.
I've bent a few and they are only a $75 part but it's still something to watch out for. If you forget to put in the pin, you could bend the arm when lifting the hitch.
I still favor have the subframe mount as it makes for a very strong unit. I just wish it wasn't in the way and wish that putting on the backhoe didn't require removing the 3pt. hitch. )
I completely concur. I loved my
L3830 (now on
eBay - wink, wink /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), but just upgraded to the
L5030 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I transferred my BH90 subframe from the
L3830 to the
L5030 (NOT an easy job, especially since I had to fabricate two new rear axle attachment brackets that the dealer didn't know/didn't advise wouldn't transfer over /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif). I just today went to use my Woods tiller (see other post for the travesty with that unit) on the
L5030 and having never before used the 3 point on the
L3830, promptly bent my lower right stabilizer arm (that's what I get for not hopping on TBN for the last couple of days - I could have read your post and been warned!). It's likely nothing that cannot be straightened (no, I will NOT be swapping out for the still brand new arm on the
L3830...), but that design needs to be better thought out. Now here I am with a perfectly great
L5030 and a bent arm. At least it doesn't carry the load. Sigh.
