Just purchased my 1064 and wanted electronics on it but it was priced at 500 so I passed. I am looking at linear actuators online for the flap but looking for some ideas for chute rotation. I have seen that some folks have used a power window motor but have not looked into it yet. Is there anyone that sells a bolt on package for less than 500 for these?

On many, a cable is wrapped around the chute and goes to a crank handle. I've always thought a $140 (or less?) winch from Harbor Freight would make a reasonable choice. Just run the cable the same way as the handle. Heck, they even have wireless remotes that one could have inside their mitten (if an open station) or velcro'd to the wall in a cab.

Should be sealed better than a window motor. Have plenty of power (be careful!). Etc.

The landpride has a gear setup on it or I may be all over that idea. I am thinking about putting lexan across the back of my rops to keep some of the snow off of me but then the chute becomes and issue. Guy here says put my dewalt drill on the shaft :)

For the $100/year that a dewalt would cost (assuming failure every season), you can probably get a pretty nice motor.
Bosch made one that we were looking at at my last job for a truck PTO engagement. No idea the pn. It was pretty powerful, and they used it in the transfer case of some SUV to adjust the front/rear bias of the 4wd. So it was exposed, and was continuous duty. Much stronger than a "window motor".

How is that for a tiny bread crumb.......

Actually, found it. Ouch.......

Something like this may work. Maybe... Somewhat hi-dollar, depending on your perspective.

I used a $10 power window motor from the bone yard, and a $15 double pole double throw momentary toggle from napa. This was for the rotation and I have had no problem with power or freeze ups. My tractor is in an unheated garage. Before I start blowing I check for ice on the chute and at the bottom of the impeller housing and chip it away if there is any. Never had a freeze up while blowing. If you go to the bone yard for a motor, bring a few sockets with you around 7/8" and find a motor with a gear that fits in and meshes with a socket. Now you have a way to mate the motor to your blower.

Interesting. You weld a 3/8 inch extension on the blower shaft and put the socket onto that I take it?

I got the Idea from a fellow Bynetter. These pics are not mine and I hope the original owner doesn't mind me reposting them. If you do a search for chute rotation you should find several threads.

Mine is similar and I used a cheap $15 seat motor for rotation. Modified the shaft and it works fine:

CAR SEAT 3-12VDC GEAR MOTOR

A linear actuator does UP/DOWN.
