The flux capacitor and di-lithium crystal warp coil will be available as dealer installed options.:)

gsganzer,

I have looked at Mag Wind and even emailed them for info a few times. I have yet to get a response. They look sweet though.

Scott VT, that looks like my view also. I live at 3,100 feet and it is quite windy. They have a few models out now that will not shut off during high winds which means they really kick out the watts during storms. Are they happy with their wind turbines?

Mornin Scesnick,
To the best of my knowledge they are happy with the units, I have not spoken to them directly only second hand info through other neighbors. To be fair about it I would think that they need a good return considering they have to restucco the concrete walls of their observation tower every so many years, because the wind storms blow the stucco right off  I have significant wind at 1200 ft I cant even imagine what its like another 1000 ft higher in elevation :) And quite honestly I dont think I want to know :)

Here is a shot of the silo with missing stucco

Doc Bob - ya just gotta move one county west. Better gas prices too. No need for $200bbl ethanol out here. Gas yesterday was 12cents less in Palmyra than in Waukesha.

I wish I could move! My wife would not move. I save on gas by simply riding my bicycle to work everyday.

I have always wanted a wind genny. I still have dreams. Maybe someday when I move west to Palmyra?

Watch these guys in the coming months Mag-Wind

The first lot of "pre-production" units has started. Full scale production and availability should start in the coming months.

I signed up for the Mag-Wind e-newsletter, and just received the attached .pdf file from them. It looks like they are getting ready to ship, with a turnkey cost under $15k, and a projected 1100 kWh/month produced per unit. Rated at 5 kW in a 28 mph wind. I would imagine that the price will come down as (or if) production ramps up.

Interesting.

Thanks for the newsletter, it was interesting reading. I see the cost over 10 yrs. is about 11.5cents/kwH, still higher than we pay here in Oregon, but much less than the folks in California pay. Wonder what the vibrations and noises inside the house are though.

You know the old adage, if it looks too good to be true? That applies to the Mag-wind units. I spend some time on a couple of wind boards, Mag-wind is a scam. They have no installed units and the unit would need to be 10 times the size to get the power output they are claiming.
