I was wondering if anyone here has purchased one of the cabin kits that are offered online to build as a "camp"? I have been looking at them for a few years and now that I have a place to put one I may be interested in trying to get one in the future. I'm not necessarily interested in a log cabin but am looking for a place that would be comfortable enough for say 4 people to sleep(1 bed room and a den with a pullout couch), shower, bathroom, kitchen sink. Nothing fancy whatsoever and really not looking to spend much money at all. I didn't know just how little money I could get by with.

Lee....here is a picture of a cabin I built on my farm. It is around 1000 sq. ft. I cut pine trees off the farm and got a guy with a portable sawmill to come in and saw the logs into 6X7's for the exterior walls. I used 1X1's cut from the same trees for the interior walls. I had very little building experience or expertise when I started the project. I just read a lot and asked a lot of questions. It was sometimes a difficult and frustrating experience, but when completed, quite satisfying. By cutting the logs myself and doing most of the work, I was able to keep costs to a minimum. The whole thing cost me about $20,000.
