Hey all, I think I read somewhere here that the bolts on a toothbar don't do anything more than keep it from falling off. If that is the case, would clevis pins work? I don't have any that big lying around, so before I go get some has anyone else tried this? I know it's been said before, but man, them toothbars sure are great! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Thanks.

The bolts do more than hold the tooth bar on. Because the in the tooth bar holes are slotted they keep the bar from moving in all directions.

Yes being slotted a clevis pin wouldn't keep the toothbar from sliding back and fourth in the slot. Also clevis pins aren't all that rugged to hold up to being banged up with rocks and things that are being pushed into your bucket.
