Ive traced a glow plug issue to a bad plug. I desided to replace all 4….. once one goes….

I ordered 4 new ones, but cant find the proper torque requirements, and/or weather i need to use a sealant.

Its for my 2010 DK45HSE

Thanks for any help. I cant find the info in the service manual.

Just amazes me how this site has so many knowledgeable folks and are willing to share it, and how to help me find it too. Never would a thunk to look there.

Use an Anti-Seize thread compound on the new Glow Plug threads. With the dis-similar of metals between the Head and the Glow Plug, we have seen several Glow Plugs that get seized in the Head. Spray the bottom of the existing Glow Plugs with Anti-Seize and let it sit for 15 minutes before attempting to remove the old Glow Plugs. A broken off Glow Plug is a complete bummer to deal with.

Hope this helps

What were the symptoms you saw indicating a bad glow plug?

ohmed them out. 1 is defiantly bad, another is marginal. other 2 ok.

but ill just replace all 4 while im at it. there 15 years old anyways.

checked relay and the display module is sending the signal for relay to close. the power from the 60 amp fuse is traveling thru to glow plugs. after that....not really coming up to temps.

started getting harder to start last winter. now its also having issues in summer. time to swap glow plugs.

this unit has ALWAYS fired up cleanly.

So far I haven't seen anything like that. I will be on the watch for it though. Our kioti's are about the same age/model.
