I figured it was the I after I posted. I just looked at the battery. The December tab was peeled off.

I like how it say's "Made in USA" on the tag when the major assemblies engine/tranny-the heart of the machine were made in Japan. Should say "Assembled in the USA"
One last question where was this tractor uuumm assembled? I read somewhere Georgia?

The letter I is skipped so as not to be confused with the number 1.
Back in the days when serial numbers were hand stamped into Ford transmission castings, Henry wouldn't buy a number 1 stamp, so the poor guys in the factory had to use the letter I instead. Apparently there was lasting psychological damage.........

Dang! I was going to tell him it was made in "Decuary" or "Jancember," but you spoiled my fun.
