With the ground starting to freeze up, I have started to move some large stumps to the dump piles and clear out some boulders that will be a nuisance for the excavator.

Carrying these in the grapple, the tractor gets real tipsy on a slight slope, especially down hill of if a front tire drops in a low spot.

I took a deep breath as one rear slowly lifted, then settled as I exhaled. I don't need this!

I think its ridiculous for the Kubota L-39 IOM saying not to load rears with BH attached.

I imagine that I may not be able to lift the tires off ground as easy and that the how may not be able to pick up the tractor and position the machine like I do. (Oops! I forgot, I’m not supposed to that either!)

Also I worry that the machine will be even more underpowered with the added weight, especially climbing my hills and working my way up the ridge.

My question on the above is to what extent I will change the over all operation of the machine with Beet juice in the rears? Am I better off just really crawling with heavy loads. I do not move fast now, and I think crawling would just get me trouble slower.

I would appreciate any comments from those with experience.
Thanks.
It maybe a trailer/transporting issue for Kubota to protect itself from the 10,000# GVW? I have the L-35 with no restrictions about filling the tires with the backhoe? Kubota uses the weight factor of towing without the CDL for promoting sales? I maybe wrong? I think your L-39 is close to 1000# heavier?

Timely post, I'm in the process of purchasing an L39. The dealer said right off that they would fill the rear tires. He estimated it would add 600# to the machine. I think with some of the extra's I'm adding, plus the filled tires, the machine will be real close to 8K#. Looking forward to life with the L39! Alot of the discussion here and Lawnsite.com sold me on the L39.

I have About 280 hours on my L-39. I use it hard. It's be back for service and repairs. Size is just right, machine could be heavier/ more HP.[/QUOTE]

Sounds like an L 48 is what you needed

Hi guys, I’ve had my L39 for about a year and also have had a B21 for 7 years now. The L39 does not have loaded tires because I am really pushing my towing limits as it is. The B21 does have loaded tires and they made a tremendous difference in stability and the overall balance of the machine with that top heavy backhoe attached. I would load the L39 rears if towing was not an issue.

The B21 has the same silly instructions about loading the tires when the backhoe is removed and unloading the tires when you use the backhoe. Let’s get real! Who is going to do that? In a past discussion the conclusion was that Kubota says that because of the FOPS system and the amount of weight it can take in a bad roll over. They also say not to load the tires on some of their cab model tractors for the same reason or at least use to.
