Anyone mowing with a B50 series?

Title say sit all. Anyone out there using their B2650/B3350 with a MMM yet? Most of the threads I have seen, everyone has them set up for winter. I was wondering how they are mowing since they have a floating deck design as opposed to the typical hanging deck I see on most tractors. Theoretically, the floating deck should follow contours better and give a more even cut...? Anyone have any input?

Bump...Still looking for some feedback on mowing experience with a B2650 or B3350. How's the cut of the deck? How about those giant tires...do they cause any turf damage when turning tightly?

I have nothing to offer here other than to note that I BELIEVE prior to the 2x20 series the Bs were all floating and not suspended...supposedly the suspended deck was preferred?

At any rate if you post a new thread of edit the subject of this one if possible to "MMM: floating deck or suspended deck?" you might get more responses

Thanks for the response. I took a look at The page for the Bx20 series machines, and it does say "suspended" deck on the MMM.

I guess I am looking for more than just a comparison of floating deck vs. suspended deck. I am considering buying a B2650, and want to know how good of a mower it is in general. The dealer I visited had a BX2670, a B2620, and a B3350 (same size as B2650) all in a row for size comparison. The B2620 looked closer in size to the Bx to me, and the larger frame B's looked really big. I am wondering if it is just too big to mow the average residential yard. Do the larger tires damage the turf? etc.

The fact that there are no responses may mean no one (or very few) are using this size machine as a mower. Of course, owners in northern climates may not have had a chance to mow if purchased within the last 6 months or so...

Well my B3350 delivers tomorrow with the MMM, I spoke with a gentleman that had the B2650 and he said it did a fine job mowing, he also told me that with Industrial tires it did not damage his yard, unless he made sharp turns.

If it dries up I will report back in a day or two, my house is new, and the front yard is fill, I expect it may leave some tracks...but we shall see.

May not be relevant at all but I use my Mahindra 3616 with a 3 pt finish mower and it cuts good and does not leave tracks. I have r4 tires.

Thanks. I'll be interested to hear about your experience. I am worried about the "sharp turns", what exactly does that mean? There are many areas of my yard that I turn as tight as I can...and still don't turn tight enough with my GC2400. I have adjusted mowing patterns to limit this, but there are still some difficult spots. I can see that being a problem if the tires tear the turf. What kind of soil and grass do you have out there?

A rear finish mower won't work for me, too difficult to maneuver. I've seen people report marking with r4s, on much smaller tractors. I would never drive your machine across my yard in anything but the driest weather..and even then I'd be worried. It's probably 3000+ lbs including mower?

I mow the majority of the 4 acres with the 3616 and trim with a JD gx345. It is a little over 3,000 pounds but hasn't rutted the yard unless I'm out there after it rains. You can really rut up the yard if you have the loader on and it's soft. I obviously try to avoid that.

I can rut up my yard with turf tires or R4 tires when making tight turns where the ground is soft. At some point, it may not matter what tire you're running. I think turfs will give the most protection to the lawn, but even they can rut in certain scenarios.

I must have missed your original thread. I mow with my B3350 with the 60" mmm and the blower grass catcher on the back. Purchased just for cutting grass and snow blwing. I have turf tires & fel with quick attached bucket. I first tried cutting with the fel on without the bucket and I got some front wheel sod ripping. I took a TBN member suggestion and removed the fel and it's been fine. I had a Simplicity sunstar 20 hp and replaced it with the B33. The grass cut quality is equal( which is great) but I had a 48" on the Sunstar and now a 60". If your lawn is flat, no issues. The 4 wd will tear the sod on a tight turn so I only use it going up and down my short 25 degree hill. Straight up in 4wd , then to 2wd turn 180, back to 4wd, down the hill, 2wd ,180 , 4wd repeat....
I keep my tires soft and thoroughly enjoy cutting grass with the a/c blowing on a hot day.
