prolly over 20 here, been plowing for 3 days, of course i disabled my new to me tractor on Friday, and was stuck with the quad, was hoping to see how well it did.
...
There is an older couple that lives down the road a bit from me, they shovel their driveway so if they haven't already shoveled it, I will push them out when I do mine. I have a sort of dilemma with them. Every time I push their snow give me a package of meat or cheese or something. I keep telling them no but they just set it in the tractor and walk away so the last time I told the guy (88 yrs old) that if they keep doing that I will quit pushing their snow. I went on to tell the guy that I am just doing them a favor, nothing more so at some point if I need a favor then I will let them know (I won't but they don't need to know that). Until then I don't want or need anything. I hope I didn't insult them but when I do a favor there are no strings attached, I don't want anything including recognition.
Oh shush, you. A bit upstate from you got OVER 30 INCHES. As well as most of northern NJ. Sorry you expect square mile accuracy on your weather predictions, but get real.
Same for a stuck car: I always have a tow rope in my vehicle and always offer to help.
Years ago, i was plowing out the main road from my house and came upon a car high centered on a snow berm in the road. I could see the wheels turning and someone standing outside the car. I stopped my tractor and went to help. The lady standing outside the car was the driver. She got stuck and left car to investigate. Locked herself out and left car in gear. Every so often heat from muffler freed up the car enough to lurch forward and get restuck.
I parked tractor behind her and chained up her car. She calied her husband who had to drive back from work in spokane to use his key to unlock car. He was red faced. Neither of them even said thank you.
It gets to where you just stop helping
