Anyone out plowin?

I made up a sprayer years ago out of a old propane tank and a sandblast gun. Used it for bar and chain oil , with a splash of WD-40 to help it flow. Welded in a dip tube , filled the tank through the top where the LP valve was, screwed in my bushing to a 1/4'" air fitting, regulated about 30psi to the tank. Ran the oil out of the dip tube through a hose to the gun with a 1/4 turn valve and ran line air to the back of the gun. That rig will really spray some oil ! Wasn't sure how it would do with Fluid Film as I had to scoop it out of the bucket and jiggle it through a funnel to fill it. Works just fine! Bar and chain oil was the gold standard here for years but I guess it isn't as environmentally friendly as the sheep dip !

Do you just wash frame, let dry, then spray it on?

Yup,.....but I don't do it anymore, because I no longer drive anything in the salt environment.
I had a really nice (ARO professional) spray rig, but I gave it to a friend in Canada.
I think I should have sold it on E-Bay instead.
I think you can buy some cheap spray equipment that should work.

I had long and short hard pipe spray wands, and a long flex wand for use in the cavity above the windshield, and a short flex wand.
The pump assembly fit on top of a 15 gallon drum, like you might see with a service station grease gun.
It was a VERY nice rig!

When I bought a car, I spent part of a day prepping it, by opening up/removing everything I could.
Then spraying, letting it drip outside overnight, and bring it in next day to reassemble.
I did the job for several good friends also.
I would touch-up the undercarriage before each Winter.

I am too old for that chit now!
Besides, I had a lift then, but that house and lift burned.

"Like button" needed.
I've heard of the bar oil and it makes a lot of sense to me. I've used old crank oil/dusty dirt road technique before spraying it on through a pump garden sprayer after diluting it with #2, although it really makes a mess under there after a few years.

Had a young guy working with me one summer that wanted me to weld up a propane tank to make a potato gun. He had all the parts, so we put the fill valve and a 11/2" quarter turn valve on it. Pump it up to 120 psi and it would send a potato through a 1/2" piece of plywood ! After he left town to go to school he gave it to the highway barn to blast truck tires onto the bead, it quickly disappeared when the Dept. Of labor came around for inspection !

I thought you were trying to redirect air from the defrosters. LOL Jon

Theres actually a removable door next to the defroster ducts for passing wires through from firewall up through dashboard. The wiring tubes aren’t in the defroster ducts.
Ford does some useful things....sometimes...

I think we are on the tail end here in PA. Long range forecast is mid 40’s for the foreseeable future.
We always get a close call or a surprise snow in March. Usually you cant plow it because it goes up to 55 the next day
