Yes, 1547 Hydro.

What's the question?

OK, Thanks!

I just bought an '05 used CAT Challenger MT285B, which is almost identical to your tractor as both are made by Iseki for AGCO. I have a really strange set up for the hydraulics out the back of the tractor.

My first issue is I have no operators manual (I am ordering one as soon as possible). In the meantime, I can't understand why my "position control" slot to the right of the operators seat does not move my 3 pt hitch up/down. It only seems to limit the height that it raises/lowers. I also have 2 remotes which is great, but it seems that one of the rear remotes is what makes the 3pt go up and down. Seems kinda screwy.

The other thing I would add is there is also a power beyond circuit that used to run a backhoe which was detached before I bought the tractor.

Another peculiarity I see is there's a small lever to the right of the steering column down low. It swings outward but doesn't seem to do anything. Any idea what it does? It almost seems like a tilt steering lever, but that's to the left of the column.

My 4x4 indicator light doesn't work, but that's either a sensor or a bulb in the dash.

I don't have the levers that you show. In the manual it only shows them as both "External Auxiliary Hydraulics Lever (Option)". It does not describe how they work.

The small lever to the right of the steering wheel column is the parking brake lock/release. Push in the brakes and lock in the lever to activate the parking brake.

Hope that helps.

Ivan

One other thing, there is no 4x4 indicator light on my dash.

That is my only pet peeve with the Massey.

Here are some photos of the areas...it started to snow a bit outside.

OK, in the top photo, the two levers to the right of the seat and furthest back are your auxillary hyraulics, left and right. There is a valve that those remotes run into; you can view it from behind the tractor, where you can move a switch to have them operate double or single acting cylinders.

The position control lever moves the 3-point up and down. The little finger knobs are adjustment, you move them to set the limits of your up and down travel by essentially limitting the amount the lever can move, follow?

There is a round hand knob, below the front edge of the seat; this controls the rate at which the 3-point will drop; if it's set from a previously heavy implement, it may not go down all the way when nothing is on it, even if you stand on the arms.

The lever to the right on the column is indeed the brake pedal lock as previously mentioned.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, but I know what the knobs & levers do (other than the brake unlock at the steering column), that's not the problem.

The problem is that the levers don't seem to do what they're supposed to do. One of the remote levers makes the 3pt go up/down. The 3 pt position control lever only seems to adjust the maximum height or depth of the 3 pt-not make it raise or lower. It's almost as if the plumbing is plumbed incorrectly.

OK, so when you move your position control lever, it raises/lowers the 3 pt as it should.

Thanks on the brake lock lever, now it makes sense.

OK, I got the previous questions resolved, thanks for you help.

Now on to the PTO :D

We have a PTO engaging lever to the left of the seat. We also have a lighted PTO button on the right of the dash. We also have a PTO knob next to the PTO button.

As far as I can tell the knob must be some kind of "soft engagement" device to prevent sudden "on" of the PTO. The lever is the old standby way of engaging the PTO, but what does the lighted button do?

Top the left of the seat there also is a lever with a "lock" icon on it. When it's locked, it seems like it makes the hydro pedals harder to push down. Is this some kind of transmission lock? I can still push the hydro pedals down, but there's a lot more resistance.
