Anyone own a MF 1547?

The little button on the Massey is (from the manual) "If the engagement is too aggressive the modulation button to the left of the PTO control can be pushed (light will come on to indicate engagement) which will make the PTO engage even slower (1533, 1540, 1547, 1552 & 1560 models only)."

The lever left of the seat and the furthermost forward is the "cruise control".

To clarify the PTO opperation a little more, the PTO lever left of the seat is used to put the PTO in neutral or engage the gears, but it does not make the PTO turn. To turn on the PTO, put the PTO lever into gear, then push down and turn the yellow PTO knob on the dash. As mentioned ealier, the lighted button is used as a soft start.

Interesting....so the yellow rotary PTO knob turns the PTO "on", and the lighted push button switch to the left of the knob makes it come on more slowly. Which one do you usually find yourself using first? The button or the knob?

Ahh, OK I understand. Seems like a lot of extra buttons & knobs for little benefit. Maybe there's some logical reason for all these PTO functions. I guess the soft start could be useful for starting up a mower that requires lots of PTO power.

Thanks.

Seems like you are getting most of your answers--glad to see that it is working out. I would think that the install of the PB loop for the backhoe is the root cause of many of the issues. Have you traced it back to where it is connected? I wonder if removing it from the system would make sense (you have the two rear remotes if you needed them for a rear implement)

Thanks again Todd. I didn't forget you. Just been busy beyond belief.

I can't remove the "loop" in the power beyond circuit or I'll dead-head the pump and blow something up!

I need your mailing address!!!!! :) PM it to me.

On my tractor the power beyond was taken via the loader valve. There is a power beyond add plug and a delete plug that can be put in. I am wondering if that is not the case where you pb circuit is taken from? Maybe just a simple part installed and pull the circuit out of the tractor like mentioned earlier will clear us some problems.

I use my pb circuit with my log splitter. When I raise my 3 point it makes my splitter ram move out about 3 inches. I guess it has something to do with the pressure relief valve. I never really worried about it because my splitter is only hooked up a few days a year and I only raise the 3 point to transport my splitter to the spot where the wood is at then its set back on its feet.

When I add my 3rd valve function for my loader, I might delete the PB out the back which was used for the backhoe and add the 3rd function for the loader.
