Anyone put up snow fence any more?

Took a few shots of my fence this morning. This looks a little distorted, but the fence follows the curve of the driveway. 100' of "netting" style fence that will only last another year or two, since the snow sticks to it, makes it sag and then tear. 100' of plastic square mesh that works well once I figured out to sandwich it between double posts rather than trying to tie it directly to a single post. Then 200' of old wooden fence. I cut off and discard 20 or 30 feet of this every year as the ends become so dry-rotted they're basically down to just wire. Where the plastic switches to wood, you can see some good-sized holes in the fence, but it still makes the snow drift at that point.

Also a closeup of how I attached the plastic fence.

i have people in my area still put it up. some still have the old school wooden slatted stuff.

I usually see short sections (no more than 50') to protect a particularly vulnerable section from drifting. to avoid having to plow/FEL bucket shovel 4'+ drifts after getting 2" of powder.

Most NJ counties still set up snow fences. The final & fatal crop of houses leads to drifts so they now set up barrier mounds topped with vegitation aroudn the perimeter of the latest developments...
