I know nothing about this topic, but I do know that there's always a trade-off between power and stress, power and engine life. Like water injection systems for fighter aircraft (WW II prop planes, of course) you got increased power, but only for a limited amount of time, or the engine would self-destruct due to thermal loading. I suppose if you trade your tractor every 1000 hours or something, it doesn't matter to you, but the next guy???

Probably not much different than "chipping" your diesel truck.
Sure, there might be diminished longevity. If kept mild, I doubt there'd be any issue.
